B – Return and Swop

Return #

Select the “Return” icon from the “Stores Menu”.

The Return screen presents you with a list box, which contains all Items, deemed as returnable.

Select from the list an entry with a machine, job, user combination that fits your criteria, by clicking on one of the lines in the text box. ATMS then filters the list box contents to those issues matching the machine, job, user combination of the line you selected.

From this list, select the line you wish to return by clicking in the list box.

Complete the “Return Quantities” form as required, stating whether the returned units are to be returned to location 1, 2, rework, or scrap.

TIP:
If there is more than one unit issued on the line selected, the return destination can be different for some or all of the units.

E.G. 5 units issued for this transaction, 3 returned to location 2, 1 to scrap, and 1 to rework.

ATMS will confirm the returns have been made successfully, and will display a window specifying locations to which the units should be returned.

You are then returned to the filtered list box view.

Should at any point, from the filtered view, you wish to revert back to the full list view, select the “View All” button at the bottom of the screen.

Return to rework #

When returning Items from in use (using the ATMS “Return” screen), the return quantities form allows some or all of the Items on issue to be sent to rework.

Simply specify the quantity to be sent to rework in the relevant box, and press the “Go” button.

With no user input other than pressing the “Go” button, the default action is to send the Item to the rework department specified against the Item in the maintenance section of the Item definition screen.

Further input is required only if the user does not want to send the unit to the default rework department. In such cases, specify the rework department the Item is to be sent to by selecting the relevant radio button and selecting the department from the combo box options.

Comments can also be entered into the free text box at the base of the screen.

Return to Scrap #

Items are scrapped when returning Items from in use.

From the “Stores Activities” main menu, select the “Return” icon and select the Item to be returned.

When presented with the “Return Quantities” screen, enter the quantity to be returned to locations, rework and to scrap. Then select the “Go” icon.

Swop #

The “Swop” routine was a concept originally developed for automotive applications, but could be useful in many other manufacturing environments.

The function is designed to return from use an Item, and issue an identical replacement Item to the same user, job, and machine combination.

The swap routine does this in one user transaction.

When the Swap routine is selected, you are presented with the same basic format screen as for Returns.

The Swap screen presents you with a list box, which contains all Items deemed as returnable.

Select from the list an entry with a machine, job, user combination that fits your criteria, by clicking on one of the lines in the text box.

ATMS then filters the list box contents to those issues matching the machine, job, user combination of the line you selected.

From this list, select the line you wish to return by clicking in the list box.
