Q – References – Sites and Point of Issue

Table of Contents

Sites #

Most users of ATMS will only be operating on a one-site basis, and do not have to create any sites if willing to use the Default “MAINSITE”.

However, should users wish to make the site location more personal, and logical to their installation, they can create their own site name/reference. This can then be used and will be displayed on reports, etc.

Additional Sites can be created if necessary.

To define, enter a unique ID into the Site ID field, a Site Name and any address and contact details as desired. Address and contact details are printed on Purchase Orders if print by Site option is used.

Only the Site ID field and the Site Name are mandatory.

When Purchasing is in use, the “My Site” details are the ones printed on the Purchase Orders. “My Site” is saved locally on each PC and not globally, so it needs to be set up on each individual PC and the Purchase Orders generated from each PC will then have their own “My Site” details on them.

Purchasing will prompt users to enter their “My Site” the first time they run Purchasing if it hasn’t already been set on their computers.

Points of Issue #

Some ATMS installations may only have one Point of Issue (POI) and do not have to create any more Points of Issue if willing to use the Default “MAINCRIB”.

However, should users wish to make the POI reference more personal, and logical to their installation, they can create their own POI name/reference.

To define, enter a unique ID into the POI ID field, a POI Name and specify on which Site the POI is.

Points of Issue can be defined as Tool Stores, Vending Machines or Electronic Cabinets. Select the option from the Location Type drop-down list.

When a Vending Machine is being specified then the corresponding Database details need to be entered. These will vary according to the database type that can be Access or SQL Server. Once Database details are filled in, press the “Test Connection” button to make sure they are all correct and select the Vending Machine ID from the VM ID dropdown list.

Check the LINKING TO VENDING MACHINES for further configuration regarding Vending Machines.

All of the other entries are optional, but the assignment of a Budget means that purchases from this location can be tracked independently of any other purchase if so desired.
