Items #

References is the best place to create and update your items if you are linking to SupplyPoint vending machines.

It provides a single point of entry for the update of multiple vending machines and has a similar look and functionality to the SupplyPoint Utilities.

The Items screen is divided into two tabs.

A “Common” tab for all details that are the same across all vending machines and a “Point of Issue Assignments” for those details that can vary from one vending machine to another.

Item Number:
This has to be a unique alphanumeric identifier for the item (required).

Description:
A description of the item (required)


Alias:
This can be used for additional information about the item. Some uses have included manufacturer’s part number and location of the item in locked cabinets.

Supplier Part Number:
This is generally used to keep track of the item number as it is ordered from the supplier.

Item Group:
Putting the item in an Item Group will allow you to search for the item more easily (recommended).

Item Sub-Group:
It is sometimes useful to divide large item groups into smaller groups to help with searches.  Select the appropriate Item Sub-group here.

ATMS Tool Type ID:
This is the Item Type in ATMS. Options are: Consumable, Semi-Durable, Durable, Permanent Issue and Spare.

Brand:
The Item’s brand can be entered here.

Image File:
Enter the name of the item’s image file here.

Supplier:
This is the preferred provider of the item; having this information will help with ordering (recommended).

Packet Size:
The number of the item that comes in a packet; this will help with ordering (recommended).

In Use Percentage:
The percentage of items in use to be consider as available during a purchasing calculation.

In Rework Percentage:
The percentage of items in rework to be considered as available during a purchasing calculation.

Average Weight of 1 Piece:
Enter the weight of the item here if you are using scales with the Vending Machines.

Unit Cost/Analysis Price:
This is the purchasing price of a new unit of this item and it is the one used for reporting purposes.

Used Unit Cost:
Enter the price of a used unit here. This might be a purchase price, or it may be the price of reworking the item.

Maximum Qty:
You can use the drawer capacity as the item maximum if you wish.  Otherwise, fill in this field so that the system can correctly calculate an order (recommended).

New Minimum Qty:
The minimum number of the item that you want to have on hand; this will help with ordering (recommended).

New/Used Sensitive:
Check this box if the item will be stored as new and used in the vending machine.

Can Be Returned,
Reworked or Scrapped: Check these boxes if you want users to be able to return, rework or scrap the item.

Batch Traceable:
Use of this function will require users to enter a batch number when withdrawing the item.

Ticketable:
Check this box if you intend to issue receipts for this item.

First In First Out:
Check this box if you want to rotate stock, making sure that old stock does not stay in the back of the drawer.

Weighable:
Check this box if you intend to allow use of scales to measure quantities of the item.

Priority Status:
Check this box to make the item available using the Priority Withdraw transaction privilege.

Life Tracked:
Check this option if you want to track the item using the tool life functions in the Vending Machine.

Initial Life:
The default number of pieces in the life of the tool.

Minimum Life: The minimum number of pieces that is allowable for the item to be. used

Rework User/Rework User Group:
Enter the name of the User or User Group responsible for reworking the item.

Scrap User/Scrap User Group:
Enter the name of the User or User Group responsible for scrapping the item.

Maximum Qty:
You can use the drawer capacity as the item maximum if you wish. Otherwise, fill in this field so that the system can correctly calculate an order (recommended).

New Minimum Qty:
The minimum number of the item that you want to have on hand; this will help with ordering (recommended).

Rework Pickup Level:
Enter the maximum number of this item that should be in the machine for rework at any given time.

Used Minimum Qty:
Enter the minimum number of used pieces of the item you want on hand.  This can be used to see if items are being returned properly or to help track your rework processes.

Owned Qty:
This is for situations when a company switches from buying outright to consignment.  If any of the item are owned from previous purchases enter the quantity here.
